Rooms, lodges & apartments
Do you have Wi-Fi in the lodges?
We are in the process of introducing high-speed Wi-Fi in all our self-catered accommodation, lodges and apartments.
In addition, all public areas on the resort, such as the restaurant, lounge, bar, reception and leisure areas all have Wi-Fi.
All hotel rooms are equipped with Wi-Fi.
What time is check in/check out?
Hotel bedrooms: check-in from 15:00 / check-out by 11:00 – these times are applicable on all arrival and departure days.
Lodges: check-in from 16:00 / check-out by 10:00 – these times are applicable on all arrival and departure days.
Should you require an early check-in and/or a late check-out, please call our reception team on 01572 757 901. Requests will be accommodated where possible, subject to availability. All agreed early arrival and late departure requests will be charged at an additional cost of ÂŁ10 per hour, per room.
Which rooms have views of Rutland Water?
Many of our rooms have views of Rutland Water. To ensure you get a room with the view you require, contact our friendly Reservations team who will be able to advise on the best accommodation to suit your requirements. T: 01572 757 901.
Do you have accessible rooms?
We have two accessible rooms on the resort. In addition, we have buggies that can help transport visitors requiring assistance around the resort.
Do you have walk-in showers?
Only a few of our rooms are equipped with walk-in showers. If this is a specific requirement, please let us know when booking.
Dining
Do I have to book a table for lunch or dinner?
Weekends, special events and school holidays can be busy, therefore we’d always recommend booking in advance. Book online on the dining page of our website or contact our reception team on 01572 757 901 who will be happy to book a table for you.
Where can we eat in the area?
On the resort, we have our ever-popular Blossoms restaurant, lounge and bar. We are proud to offer international cuisine and delectable food choices, carefully curated and crafted by our fabulous head chef. You can find our current menus on the dining page of our website. Should you prefer to eat out, our reception team will be able to help point you in the direction of nearby cafes, pubs, bars and restaurants.
Private dining
Are the dining areas wheelchair accessible?
The majority of our dining and event spaces are accessible for wheelchair users.
What is the maximum amount of people for private dining?
Our smaller private dining rooms cater for up to 30 guests. Larger event spaces are available on request.
Can I decorate the room?
You are more than welcome to bring in your own table and free-standing décor, we do not allow any hangings on the walls.
Are any table decorations included?
We do not provide table décor as a standard.
Can you provide birthday or celebration cakes?
You are able to provide your own cake when having in addition to your meal and not as an additional course. For example, to be served after dessert with tea and coffee.
Is there a dress code?
Our restaurant and smaller private dining areas do not have a strict dress code; however smart casual is advised. Of course, should you wish to have a strict dinner dress code or theme this is welcomed.
Are there service fees?
Services fees are not added to any prebooked events.
Can you choose your own menus?
No, our chef has designed menus to reflect the hotel and uses seasonal and locally sourced produce. Our team will work with you to ensure that any dietary requirements are catered for.
Leisure
Do I have to book a session in the swimming pool?
No, there’s no need to book a session for the swimming pool. Guests can use it at their leisure during opening hours. Please note that maximum capacities are in place, and adult-only swim sessions are scheduled at certain times – the timetable is available at the main reception.
Where’s good to go for a walk?
Our guests have direct access to Rutland Water over a stile at the edge of our grounds. This takes you directly onto the Rutland Water cycle trail which is ideal for walking and cycling around. The family trail starts at eight miles, with the full circuit clocking up 23 miles. However, if you miss out the peninsular, the route is a mere 17 miles long!
What is there to do in the area?
Rutland may be England’s smallest county, but there are many places of interest, things to do as a family or activities for a rainy-day in this historic county. Set at its heart is Rutland Water, an area of outstanding beauty, popular for cycling, fishing, bird-watching and water sports.
Can we hire bikes?
A five-minute drive from Rutland Hall Hotel takes you to Whitwell, one of several tourist sites around Rutland Water and a perfect place to hire cycles from… Rutland Cycling.
Can we bring our own bikes?
Yes, of course, but we can’t be responsible for their safety, so do ensure you bring sufficient bicycle locks and chains.
Can we use the leisure facilities?
Yes, guests are welcome to enjoy the leisure facilities at Rutland Hall during their stay.
What age restrictions are applied to the gym?
Under 16’s are not permitted to use the gym, with or without supervision.
General
Is there help for guests to get around the resort?
Rutland Hall is set in 70 acres of rolling parkland. The accommodation is spread over the resort in three different buildings, and Blossoms restaurant is in a separate building.
The site has quite steep elevation changes. If you or a member of your party has mobility issues (or just some heavy luggage to carry), our buggy service is on hand to help.
Let our reservationists know at the time of booking that you may require buggy assistance, so we can prep and make sure the service is available as and when you require it.
Do you allow dogs?
Yes we do. With space to play, beautiful grounds to explore and long countryside walks, Rutland Hall Hotel is the perfect retreat for your four-legged friends. Canine companions are welcome within select accommodation, the grounds and outside terrace.
Our dog guests are charged at ÂŁ35 per dog, per night in hotel rooms, and ÂŁ10 per dog, per night in our self-catering accommodation.
What are the bus times into Oakham and Stamford?
Centrebus operate a No.9 bus service between Oakham and Stamford.
The nearest stop to Rutland Hall Hotel is Whitwell, which is approximately four miles from the hotel.
Visit Centrebus for the most up-to-date service and timetable information.
Alternatively, please contact reception for a copy of the map and for information surrounding bus access.
How can I book a taxi?

How do I access Rutland Water?
Rutland Water can be accessed directly from the hotel grounds. For guests who are on foot, there is a stile that leads directly onto the footpath surrounding Rutland Water. If you have bikes, the best access is to exit the hotel site via the main entrance and a right turn will take you straight onto the trail, less than 100m from the hotel entrance.
If you are driving, make your way around the water and you will find various, well sign posted, access points to Rutland Water. Visit the Discover Rutland website for everything you need to know.
Do you have lifts?
Both bedroom blocks have a lift, however, there is no lift in the main house. Should you require any assistance with your luggage or prefer to have your stay in a ground floor room, please advise us at the time of booking.
Do you have a private room so I can take a Zoom call during my stay?
Should you require a private room for a meeting or phone call, please speak to member of our team on 01572 757 901 or email reception@rutlandhall.co.uk to book one of our meeting or hotel rooms.
Alternatively, you are welcome to make use of our public area facilities such as the lounge area in reception or our hotel bar.
