Rutland Water Aqua Park

Just a short drive from Rutland Hall, you’ll discover Rutland Water Aqua Park, open from the beginning of May to the end of September.

Barnsdale Gardens

Rutland County Museum first opened in 1969 and is home to a rural collection symbolising the agricultural and social history of the local area.

Why not drop your bags off at Rutland, ready for a cosy night in after exploring either Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, Cambridgeshire, or Northamptonshire?

There are many ways to travel to Rutland from England’s capital. So, we’ve created this handy list of all the relevant transport services to help you choose the best option for your family.

Car Travel

Of course, the easiest way to travel to Rutland is by cramming all your luggage in the car and getting ready to hit the road!

If this is your preference, don’t forget to pack essential car snacks for the 2hr 45 min drive to us. If you’re travelling with a friend or partner, sharing the driving would speed up the journey and give you both a break!

Train Travel

There are several other options that allow you to sit back, relax and enjoy the scenery. To get from London to Oakham, which is just up the road from Rutland Hall Hotel, the average train journey takes about 1 hour 40 minutes with 1 change.

Our top tip is to purchase a railcard. This way you’ll be sure to save some pennies, leaving more spending money for when you arrive at Rutland.

Coach Travel

It might not be the first option to pop into your head, but travelling by coach is a great alternative for getting from London to Rutland.

If you’re not in a hurry or in need of arriving at a specific time, we’d recommend hopping on the National Express for a cheaper price than the train!

The coach runs regularly, with little to no changes, so you can travel up to Rutland Hall easily — ready to embark on a daytime adventure!
